This year, 2022, the Philippine Psychiatric Association, Inc. (PPA) celebrates its 50th (Golden) Anniversary and part of the celebratory activities is our virtual Midyear Convention in July. As expected, this will be packed with interesting topics and renowned speakers. Our scientific theme this year is “Expanding the Clinical Perspective of the Psychiatrist: Learning from the Other Medical Specialties” and we have established collaborations with four big medical organizations: Philippine Dermatological Society, Philippine Pediatric Society, Philippine College of Surgeons, and Philippine College of Physicians. We have worked with these organizations to develop meaningful and clinically valuable topics for the Psychiatrist captured in four individual plenary sessions.
As always we will have our business meeting and in addition we have instituted the Recognition Awards to honor our past presidents, outstanding members, and other individuals who have contributed to our association. For the first time, we will have a Kapihan session, a chat show format to discuss what transpired during the convention and address additional queries from the membership. Finally, in our Fellowship Night, another first time activity – the Kwentong PPA which will showcase the dramatic vocal talents of our members. Truly there is so much to look forward to in our Midyear Convention! It will be our distinct pleasure to have you join us.
