Requirements for Fellow Application (Online Submission)

  1. Fully accomplished application form
  2. Letter of Intent/Application as Fellow/Letter of Acceptance of Nomination
  3. Conforme
  4. Diplomate Certificate
  5. Certificate of Good Standing from PPA
  6. Certificate of Good Standing from PMA
  7. Certificate from PJP that Residency Research Paper is ready and awaiting publication, or proof of publication in PJP or another scientific journal.
  8. 2×2 ID Picture
  9. Proof of Payment of Application Fee
  10. Certification or proof for the following : (for points-based merit system) – N.B. the following are not all required but the applicants’ points will need to reach a required number. Applicants will be provided with a copy of the scoring sheet the committee uses for assigning points to their accomplishments.
    1. Speaker in National Scientific Convention
    2. Speaker in International Scientific Convention
    3. Speaker in Local Scientific Activity
    4. Awards as a Psychiatrist
    5. Published Books in Psychiatry
    6. Published Scientific Literature After Residency
    7. Participation in Teaching in Training (Faculty Member in Academe or Involvement in Residency Training
    8. Administrative Work
    9. Participation in National Mental Health Projects, which includes disaster work, legislation, local and national government projects
    10. Participation in International Mental health Projects, which includes participation in UN and International Organization’s’ Projects
    11. Attendance to PPA Conventions
    12. Participation in PPA Organizing Committee
    13. Chairmanship in PPA Organizing Committee
    14. Clinical Work
    15. Certificate of Attendance in Local and International Conventions
    16. Membership in the Philippine Journal of Psychiatry Editorial Board
    17. Completed Fellowship training.
    18. Completed other training and workshops related to psychiatry (eg. CBT, EMDR, DBT)
    19. Completed Masteral/Doctoral Degree

Procedure:

  1. Committee on Membership and Welfare announcement of commencement of the application period through letters to training institutions, direct invitation of diplomates based on membership rosters, and publication through official PPA communications.
  2. Online registration of applicants.
  3. Recognition of applications by committee members through email. A google drive folder link will be provided for each applicant so they can upload their scanned requirements to the Google Drive folder.
    1. A Viber group will be formed with the Fellow applicants and the committee for coordination purposes.
  4. Evaluation of submitted requirements by Committee members (based on points system).
  5. Individual interviews with the Fellow Applicants will be scheduled, coordinated through Viber or other official means of communication and conducted.
  6. Committee Members will deliberate on the applications and will submit their recommendations to the PPA Board of Directors for final approval.
  7. Applicants will be officially informed through email of their acceptance as Fellows of the PPA.
  8. Information about the Fellows’ Conferment in the Annual Convention will be coordinated using the Viber group and officially through email.
