GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS:

In line with the search for “Mister and Miss PPA 2019”, as part of the celebration of the fellowship night during the PPA midyear convention on July 26, 2019, below are the guidelines and mechanics for all concerned:

 

I. INTRODUCTION
The “Mister and Miss PPA 2019” is a wit, personality and beauty search for PPA members who will serve as ambassadors in promoting mental health advocacies of the Philippine Psychiatric Association. They will also attend programs and activities relevant to their titles.
The candidates will compete in the following categories:
  • Popularity Vote
  • Facebook Likes
  • Best in Production Number
  • Clinic Attire Competition
  • Evening Gown/Formal Attire Competition
  • Question and Answer Portion

 

II. DATE OF COMPETITION AND VENUE

The pageant will be held at the Novotel Hotel in Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines on July 26, 2019 (Friday) at 7PM.

 

III. QUALIFICATIONS
The Search is open to all female and male PPA members who meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Must at least be an ASSOCIATE MEMBER of the Philippine Psychiatric Association
  • With confidence and pleasing personality
  • No age limit
  • All qualified members of any civil status may join

 

IV. MECHANICS
Each candidate will compete in the following categories:
  • Popularity Vote – there will be tickets to be sold that will serve as raffle tickets and at the same time, votes of support for the chosen candidates. Each ticket is equivalent to 10 votes, amounting to 100 pesos each. The tickets will be issued during the opening ceremony of the midyear convention. Deadline for submission of ticket returns would be on July 26, 2019 at 12NOON SHARP!! to the PPA secretaries. The winners will be based on the highest number of tickets sold/endorsed to a candidate. This is a “fast-track” category, and candidates (male and female) with the highest number of tickets sold will automatically advance to the finals.
  • Facebook Likes – Each candidate will have official pageant photos that will be uploaded on the Facebook Fan Page of PPA. Candidates are enjoined to share their official pageant photos to gather “likes” from their friends, colleagues and supporters. The winners of this category will be based on the highest number of total likes of all the photos of each candidate. This is a minor award, but candidates (male and female) with the highest number of likes will automatically become the Mister and Miss Photogenic.
  • Best in Production Number – in this category, winners will be based on their performance during the production number. This is a minor award, and has no bearing on the total preliminary judging score.
  • Clinic Attire Competition – in this category candidates will be wearing the casual attire of their choice to satisfy the criteria of Design/Fitting, and Poise & Bearing. This category comprises 35% of the total preliminary judging score.
  • Evening Gown/Formal Wear Competition – candidates will be donning evening gown or formal attire of their choice, or the ones that will be provided by our sponsor fashion designer. They will be judged based on Design/Fitting, and Poise & Bearing. This category comprises 35% of the total preliminary judging score.
  • Question & Answer – Each candidate will be given one question to answer, and the answer will be rated according to its relevance, substance, & value to the question given. This category comprises 30% of the total preliminary judging score.

 

V. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
The Top Three (3) Candidates will be chosen during the preliminary round of the competition according to these criteria:
  • Popularity Vote – Fast Track. Winner shall automatically advance to the finals.
  • Clinic Attire- 35%
  • Evening Gown/Formal Wear – 35%
  • Question & Answer – 30%
  • TOTAL: 100%
  • Winners of the popularity vote shall advance to the final competition.
  • Winners of the popularity vote will still be competing during the preliminary rounds as the winners of this category shall be announced during the selection of the final candidates.
  • Male and female candidates with top 2 preliminary scores, and have not won in the popularity vote, shall advance to the final round of the competition.
  • Should there be a tie in the winners of popularity vote, the score and ranking in the preliminary round of the competition will be the basis for the advancement to the final round.
  • In the final round, previous scores will be disregarded. The top three (3) candidates will be judged based on the following criteria:
  • Final Question and Answer – 50%
  • Beauty and Personality – 25%
  • Poise and Stage Presence – 25%
  • TOTAL: 100%
  • The Top Three (3) Candidates will be declared as Mister and Miss PPA 2019, First Runner-Up and Second Runner Up, respectively.
  • The decision of the Board of Adjudicators is final and irrevocable.

 

VI. AWARDS
The following awards will be given to candidates garnering the highest scores or votes in each category:
  1. Mr. & Ms. Popularity
  2. Mr. & Ms. Photogenic (Most Facebook Likes)
  3. Best in Production Number (Male and Female)
  4. Best in Clinic Attire
  5. Best in Evening Gown/Formal Wear
The Major Awards are the following:
  1. Mister and Miss PPA 2019
  2. First runner-up
  3. Second runner-up
